Terms of use
Last changed 30 July 2026.
The deal
tagcheck checks where your listings come up in Etsy's public search and mails you when the position moves. Using the site means accepting what is written on this page. It is free, and there is nothing to cancel beyond closing the account.
What you are responsible for
- Tracking listings you have a reason to track, and phrases you typed yourself.
- The decisions you make about your shop after reading a number here. See what it cannot tell you before making any of them.
- Not automating against this site, not scraping it, and not trying to make it issue searches faster than the daily pass. There is a limit of 25 tracked phrases per account and it is there to keep the Etsy API usage honest.
What is not promised
- That a position is exact. Etsy personalises search and does not promise the API orders results the way the website does.
- That the pass always runs. Etsy's API can be slow, rate-limited, or down; when it is, the check is skipped and tried again the next morning.
- That every mail arrives. Mail gets delayed and filtered. The board is the record; the mail is a courtesy.
- That the service continues. It is free and run by one person. If it ends you will be told by email before the data is deleted.
Provided as-is, with no warranty. Liability is limited to what you paid, which is nothing.
Etsy
tagcheck reads Etsy's public API under Etsy's API Terms of Use. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or certified by Etsy, Inc., and "Etsy" is their trademark. Listing content belongs to whoever listed it. Etsy can change or withdraw the API at any time, which would end this service.
Ending it
Close the account from the account page and everything is erased on the spot. Accounts that abuse the service or the API may be closed without notice.
Governing law
